Dr. Anup Shah is a double board-certified orthopedic surgeon specializing in orthopedic sports medicine and shoulder surgery. He is certified by the American Academy of Orthopedic Surgeons and holds a Certificate of Added Qualification in Sports Medicine. He completed his Orthopedic Sports Medicine Fellowship at Baylor College of Medicine in Houston, TX, and his Shoulder/Elbow Fellowship at Harvard Medical School/Massachusetts General Hospital in Boston, MA. In addition, he completed his Master of Business Administration from Rice University in Houston, TX.

Dr. Shah has over 30 peer reviewed articles and book chapters, and his work has been presented at the national and international level. He continues to remain active in education and research through committees in the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and American Shoulder and Elbow Society. He is also Associate Fellowship Director and a Clinical Scholar Facilitator at Banner University Medical Group.

He is currently a team physician for the Phoenix Suns and Milwaukee Brewers and head team physician for Paradise Valley and Barry Goldwater High Schools. He is experienced in sports coverage and comprehensive athletic care. As an avid sports enthusiast and formerly ranked tennis player, he enjoys the team approach at Banner Sports Medicine and welcomes you to the team!

Professionally, I enjoy team coverage, surgeon education, orthopedic research, product development, and innovation.

Currently, our team provides coverage for the Phoenix Suns, Milwaukee Brewers, and over 30 high schools. I hold committee positions in the American Orthopedic Society for Sports Medicine and American Shoulder and Elbow Society, and I have over 50 total publications and presentations (nationally and internationally).

Personally, I enjoy family time, following Phoenix sports, and traveling. I also lead an active lifestyle, as a formerly ranked tennis player, I strive to stay fit and healthy through exercise, tennis, basketball, and golf.
